Mary Lee, Great White Shark

From the moment Mary Lee's tracker pinged in a tidal creek in Charleston, she has captured my imagination. I wondered what a 16 foot shark looked like and decided to paint her life size in order to find out. My 17 foot mural of her has been exhibited several times, but I continue to want to paint her. Her markings are accurate- to make sure, I went frame by frame through video of her swimming under the Ocearch ship before she was brought aboard and tagged.
