South Carolina on Canvas was inspired by a single sketching trip to Childsbury, a colonial settlement dating from 1707 slated for a housing development. One sketching afternoon blossomed into seven months of weekly painting trips devoted to exploring and documenting the thirty-seven most endangered historic sites in South Carolina.
